Radio? Seriously? What made you want to make a career out of that?

It all happened by accident really, but has been the most amazing experience of my life! I get to do what most people dream of.

By accident…what do you mean by that?

Well…before radio, I worked at a little coffee place called Starbucks…you may have heard of it. I quit to spend more time with my family so I went looking for an internship at the radio station. Started off as a Promotions Assistant, within 6 months I became a Promotions Director of 4 stations…Rock, Classic Rock, Country & an AM station. I learned a lot in a very short time & I have been in love ever since! Came to MAX FM in Jan. of 2010 & I have been making Winston’s life a living hell but I don’t think he’d have it any other way!

What has been your favorite experience so far?

Everyday is something new! I have been able to meet, interview, & introduce bands, organize amazing events, been involved in community fundraisers…but I would have to say that the short time that I have been on the air with Winston has been by far the best! It’s giving me a whole new element to business. He is an amazing teacher & I am very lucky to have been able to learn so much from him. Plus, if I didn’t say all this he’d probably get someone else to do the morning show with him!

Now, you are a Bakersfield gal right?

Yep, born & raised right here! Graduated from Taft High…still have lots of friends there too! My family all came from here as well so it’s a given that I would raise my family here as well. What I like about Bakersfield is that we are such a giving community…we are there for each other in a time of need.

Speaking of giving, you have some causes that you are pretty passionate about huh?

Ohhhh yes! I love working with our local Red Cross & Houchin Blood Bank. But where my heart beats the most is for our Military & children! I love helping those who have served & are currently serving! Being in radio I have the tools to make things happen! I do a 30 minute Public Affairs program on Sundays so that non-profit organizations can get the word out to the community of what they have going on. It’s my way of saying “Thanks”!

What should people expect when they listen to you & Winston in the morning?

I have 2 words that describe Winston best: Crazy !&$#%! He makes me laugh so much sometimes it’s hard to concentrate! We have a lot of fun with what we do & it’s obvious! We might seem like we don’t like each other but that’s what makes it interesting! The 8:10 Weird Stories are the best! I am the same person out in public that I am on the air…genuine, positive & funny as heck!

I tell every person who serves "Thank You" without

them I couldn't do what I do!

My favorite team for over 25 years! I am very

passionate about my team & about the game! GO NINERS!

In my opinion, one of the most influential bands of

all time! I have EVERY album:)
